This is a special piece as it is my first experiment with drywall. Much of my practice is in service of my mental health, and a life long effort to find belonging and stronger sense of identity. This piece is the seed for a series of work using gypsum, a sustainable and abundant natural resource found in Michigan.
 
Learning how to use this humble material is a effort to feel grounded and connected to the State in which I was born.
